Collective Bargaining Agreements

Many Military Department employees are members of a Collective Bargaining Unit, often referred to as a union. The state of Washington currently has ten master agreements covering employees in general government service, as well as most state community colleges, the Evergreen State College, and some 26,000 home care workers. The Military Department has employees represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) and the Washington Public Employees Association (WPEA).
